Outstanding tourism, service enterprises receive awards

7th Annual Guide Awards

"The Guide Awards 2005", which honours organisations' contributions to the country's tourism and services development, were given on March 25 to 130 enterprises operating in Vietnam.

The awards, initiated by the Viet Nam Economic Times and The Guide magazine, have been selected by travellers and readers annually since 1999.

Among the award receivers at a ceremony in Phan Thiet, southern Binh Thuan Province, the Saigontourist Travel Service Company was selected "Best All-round Tour Operator". Meanwhile, Sofitel Dalat Palace Hotel won the "Best Hotel" award.

The "Dedication to Vietnamese Cultural Values" was granted to Rex and Huong Giang Hotels, while Caravelle Hotel and Sofitel Metropole Hanoi won the "Best Luxury Hotel" award.

The award "Best Vietnamese Restaurant" was given to Mandarin Restaurant, and the "Airline with the Best Customer Service" award was given to Air France.

The Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival in Phan Thiet, Binh Thuan was selected the best festival spectacle, while Khai Silk was given an award for restoration of Vietnamese style.
